Greetings Saints,
Ye sthe woman above is Jerry. She has
been coming to our mission with her children since her and her husband
lost their jobs in Wichita. The Lord led her to us even though she live
way on the north East side of Wichita. Her 17 year daughter just had a
baby the other night. We went by and took them dinner and a baby swing
which I got at the second hand store in the same small group of store
fronts we are in. Some of her children have now found jobs and their
lights are back on. For some time we gave them candles and bought lamp oil
for them. Of course the first day I met her I prayed with her nad asked
for the Lord in intercede here. Things are gtting better for her and her
children even though the stepdad left when things were rougher. The point
is this is a praise report. We ask you to her in prayers as she still has
to move because the banck forclosed on her home. She is not lazy just laid
off.
This is much of the story for many in
Wichita and around the country. many more are going to be homeless soon
and out of work. A war is looming.
Tuesday my day went pretty good.
Grandma made salsbury steaks, potatoes and gravy. Egg sandwiches for
lunch. We fed about 31 people total that day. Shoes, clothing were given
out. When I went to drop some of them off at the place for the over flow
shelter I had a Pregnat girl, Nicloe come up to the Van ( which is like a
prayer house on wheels ) and ask for prayer as she had to face a judge the
next day. I did not asl what for but asked the Lord to interced and do his
will for what would ever be best for Nicole and if possible spare her and
the unborn child from jail.
About a week ago I had to go talk to a
wanted man to try and get him to turn himself in for a probation
violation. He came by the mission with his wife and said he was after New
years. I have not seen them since.
The Over flow Shelter is run in a very
un fare way. You see it opens when the weather is real cold so the
homeless donot freeze. I have people who still camp out because they
either got kicked out or will not go in because they do not wish to be
treated like dogs. For instance three just got kicked out because the man
asked another man for money for a phone call so he could confirm with a
landlord that the hosue he would be renting on the 1 st was his. That's
against their rules so a Man his pregnant wife and a young woman with two
babies were kicked out. They did get their house praise the Lord but was
in the street a few cold nights. Another got kicked out for taking a
thrown away blanket out the the overflow dumpster for his Father. Yes they
took the blanket from him. Which reminds me I wish that minister with the
blankets would call me we need blankets real bad. We also need the
promised shipment of coats, food etc we were promised but they have not
contacted us for some time. Oh well the Father will provide. In fact I
have been in much prayer about the needs of this ministry. I ask how I
could let more know about us and what is going on. People laugh at me when
ipull up in the minitry vav. You see the steering colum is going out and I
have to have some place a block behind the tire to keep it from
rolling. The tires are about bald again and the Spare needs fixed. But we
keep up with his work. We have to drive 120 miles round trip just to get
there and back, that's not considering where I have to go and pick these
people up and take them...
I feel that the answer is not in new
people but with all the contacts we have. We have many on this list and
many on a mail out. Now I will ask on the mail out next month as this
months already went out, so pray about this. If everyone on this list gave
even just a small donation it would move mountains for us. Please pray
about this will you not? I would like to do a special edition to our mail
out in order to ask for help also. The Father knows what that would cost.
I pray the hearts of the people we send all things to freely will take
this to prayer.....We do not charge for the Newletters or the emails
in any way...We just ask you to pray about this. really tae this to
prayer.
I prayed about more radio time and had a
different station call me a Complete Christian radio. We need fund for
this if that is the Father's will........
